The L-bows are somewhat lighter and faster than the C-series, and they are perfect for professional musicians and dedicated students. The L3 and L4 bows already impress with a clear and colorful sound. Finding a comparable wooden bow of this quality is quite challenging, a similar “normal” carbon bow probably even impossible.

At the upper end of the scale, the L6 shines with a sound and power that is more than sufficient for string quartets or concert masters, at an incredibly affordable price.

With about 50% greater resiliency, they offer better bounce and allow powerful fortissimo and double stops without the stick touching the strings.

Carbon Fiber

Carbon fiber is pure carbon—like diamond or graphite—known for exceptional strength, stiffness, and extremely low weight, outperforming most traditional materials and widely used in Formula 1 cars, racing bikes, and modern aircraft.

The performance of carbon fiber depends on fiber orientation and resin composition. Müsing bows achieve over 60% carbon fiber content with less than 40% resin, enhancing structural efficiency.

This significantly reduces damping of high-frequency overtones, delivering a response comparable to the finest, priceless pernambuco bows.

Longevity

All Müsing bows are handcrafted in Würzburg by a multidisciplinary team of craftsmen, technicians, artists, and musicians, using premium materials built for long-term durability.

They are the first bow maker to use stainless steel for ferrules, windings, and linings on C3–C4 and L3–5 models, paired with aircraft-grade aluminum buttons and bearings for lasting strength and smooth adjustment even after decades. Frogs are made from fine ebony or snakewood, with genuine mother-of-pearl slides and eyes.

Top models C5 and L6 feature classic 835 silver fittings—more costly, but prized for their exceptional brilliance and refined appearance.
